I've had .mac for years now and find that dropbox is far superior. I have projects that I share with others, use a PC desktop, Mac desktop and a Mac laptop and iPhone. All seamlessly integrated. Shame iDisc isn't as good.

I bought this Hub last week because I was tired of all the different cables that were cluttering my desk. So far all I can say is that the hub works as promised, it is really an amazing device.

Great article and feedback. So nice to read vs. the other tech bloggs. You know, it's bad enough that I have to live in the Mac AND PC world running together (due to my industry), but this Mac and GOOGLE syncing/email is also a conundrum.... I spend more time figuring out the solution....

Any updates on this thread would be great! As I read, I am in the midst of Mobile ME for my iPhone to Mac and maybe Google Sync for Mac to Google. I have learned the lesson of synchronization feedback. LOL

Hey Jaylene,

It doesn't sound like a problem that you could have caused... that sounds like a logic board issue that is fairly common with iBooks.
I'd take it to the Apple Store and ask at the genius bar - even if they can't fix the machine, they should be able to rescue his data and transfer it to a new Mac.

Good luck!

Hey, you seem to know all there is to know about MACs. So i have a question and I'm desperate. My boyfriend has an ibook G4 and I was using it..and the unthinkable happens. I broke it?? The screen went from safari to this all blue screen, then it switched to green, then red, then white, then a grey kinda, then white i think with little lines running vertically. It wouldn't allow me to do anything. I just held the power button until it shut off.
He's a graphic designer and has thousands of dollars of design software on it, along with so many pictures. I feel terrible. Can I ix it? Can you help me please?
ANy help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I am really impressed with the simplicity and undemanding performance of Dropbox. Over the years, since the inception of .Mac and its giving to both iDisk/MobileMe I have thought it second rate. There have been spinning wheels, the forever syncing scenario and sync conflict messages that baffled me. During this period I have run 5 different Macs which, even as they advanced in processing power and memory all reacted the same to iDisk. Yes, I use its space for archiving files, that's all, its realtime syncing is just not snappy enough.
Welcome Dropbox. Today I migrated all of my files across without effort, both iPhone and MacBook carry all my work in progress. I love the understatement. The no nonsense and the ease with which what used to be a fingers-crossed exercise is now nothing more than the saving of a file, as it should be. Well done for falling into my in box last week sent by someone who I don't know.

There are as you say many guitar related apps out there for the iphone. I recently got myself a guitar one which was simply a guitar fret board and you just strum whilst changing the chord - its amazing! For anyone whom doesn't know, the chordie site is without doubt the best out there and has every guitar tab you could ever want. Great site by the way!
