More on Samsung CLP-300 settings

(Note: This is a semi-followup to my original CLP-300 review so check that out if you’re looking for the full rundown…)

Google has been sending a few folks my way who are looking for CLP-300 colour settings, so I thought I’d share mine.

Note: I’m by no means an expert on colour accuracy and arrived at these settings through trial & error:

First I tested the printer with the default settings, which seemed to be a bit over-saturated. Several other sites I had read had mentioned reducing the colour levels slightly.

So I progressively dialed down all 4 colours until I arrived at “-4″, which seems to produce just the right amount of colour:

For those who are interested, here are the rest of my settings. Nothing too special here, but I’ve decreased the Power Save setting down to 20 minutes as I tend to only print once or twice a week.

Overall after one month of usage, I’m still really impressed with this little workhorse. The quality of prints is great and even photographs don’t look bad (although not quite as good as an inkjet). It’s been very reliable and I’ve yet to encounter a paper jam or anything like that.

The toner cartridges still seem to be fairly full despite me printing several larger documents for University, so it looks as though Samsung’s estimates are fairly accurate – although I dare say the colour adjustments also help to conserve toner a fair bit.
